Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026 · Effective date: June 2026
Summary: Socliz connects to your Instagram account using the official Meta Instagram Graph API. We access only the data you explicitly authorise. We do not sell your data. You can revoke our access and request deletion at any time.
1. Who We Are
Socliz ("we", "us", "our") is an independent software platform that provides AI-powered Instagram management tools for businesses, creators, and agencies. Socliz is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a subsidiary of Meta Platforms, Inc.
This Privacy Policy explains how Socliz collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our platform, including data accessed through the Meta Instagram Graph API.
2. How We Integrate with Instagram / Meta
Socliz integrates with the Meta Instagram Graph API and the Facebook Login for Business OAuth flow. Here is exactly how this works:
- You log in using your Facebook account credentials via Facebook Login — Socliz never sees or stores your Facebook or Instagram password.
- You choose which Facebook Page and linked Instagram Business or Creator account to connect.
- You explicitly grant Socliz specific permissions (scopes) during the Facebook Login flow. Socliz requests only the permissions necessary to provide the features you use.
- Meta issues Socliz an access token on your behalf. This token is stored securely (encrypted) and used to make authorised API calls to Instagram on your behalf.
- Socliz does not access data from private individuals' Instagram accounts. It can only access data from the business/creator account you connected and data related to interactions (comments, DMs) with that account.
Permissions We May Request
Depending on which features you use, Socliz may request the following Meta API permissions:
- instagram_basic – Read basic profile info and media of your connected Instagram account.
- instagram_content_publish – Publish media to your Instagram account (Post Scheduler feature).
- instagram_manage_comments – View and reply to comments on your Instagram posts.
- instagram_manage_messages – Access and respond to Instagram Direct Messages.
- instagram_manage_insights – View account and post-level insights and analytics.
- pages_show_list – List the Facebook Pages you manage, to identify the linked Instagram account.
- pages_read_engagement – Read engagement data from your Facebook Page.
- business_management – If applicable, to manage business accounts connected to your Page.
You can review and revoke these permissions at any time via Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites → Socliz.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Provide
- Email address and name when you register for an Socliz account.
- Billing information if you subscribe to a paid plan (processed by our payment provider; we do not store raw card numbers).
- Support messages and communications.
3.2 Information Received from Meta / Instagram
When you connect your Instagram account, we receive and may store the following data through the Meta Instagram Graph API, only to the extent permitted by your granted permissions:
- Your Instagram account ID, username, profile picture, and bio.
- Media objects (posts, reels, stories) including captions, timestamps, media type, and URLs.
- Comments on your posts: commenter's Instagram user ID, username, and comment text.
- Direct Messages: sender ID, message content, and timestamps (where you have granted the messages permission).
- Account and post-level insights: reach, impressions, engagement, follower demographics, and similar metrics.
- Your access token (stored encrypted using AES-256) to make API calls on your behalf.
3.3 Information Collected Automatically
- IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and session data when you use the Socliz web application.
- Usage logs: which features you use, when you log in, and error events (for debugging and service improvement).
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the Socliz platform and its features (comment management, DM inbox, scheduling, AI tools, insights).
- Fulfil API requests you initiate within Socliz (e.g. publishing a post, sending a reply to a comment).
- Power AI features that analyse your Instagram data to generate recommendations, lead scores, content ideas, and other AI-driven outputs — solely for your own use.
- Send you transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, billing receipts).
- Send you product updates and tips, only with your consent (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- Improve and debug our platform using aggregated, de-identified analytics.
- Comply with applicable law and respond to legal requests.
We do not use your Instagram data to train AI or machine learning models for purposes beyond serving you. Your data is not used to train models sold to third parties.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
Socliz does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or Instagram data to third parties. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use trusted third-party vendors (cloud hosting, email delivery, payment processing, analytics) who process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements. They are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
- AI Processing: Some AI features send anonymised or pseudonymised content (e.g. post text, comment text, DM summaries) to an AI language model API to generate responses. This content is sent to the AI provider solely to produce the output you requested and is not retained by the AI provider for training.
- Meta: As required by the Meta Platform Terms, we may share usage data with Meta about how our platform uses the Instagram Graph API.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.
- Business Transfer: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to the same privacy protections.
6. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored on secure cloud servers located in [India / your region].
- Instagram access tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
- All data in transit is protected with TLS 1.2 or higher.
- Access to user data is restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis.
- We conduct regular security reviews of our application and infrastructure.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we implement industry-standard safeguards, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specifically:
- Instagram data fetched through the API (comments, DMs, insights) is retained only as long as necessary to deliver the feature and for a reasonable period thereafter for operational purposes.
- When you disconnect your Instagram account or delete your Socliz account, we delete or anonymise your Instagram-sourced data within 30 days.
- You can request immediate deletion by contacting us at privacy@socliz.com.
- Some anonymised usage data may be retained for longer periods for analytics and legal compliance.
